Padaiveeran director Dhana's second film, Vaanam Kottattum, released in theatres on February 7 and went on to receive favorable reviews for its making, performances and songs composed by popular singer Sid Sriram, for whom it marked his debut as a music director. Produced by ace director Mani Ratnam under his Madras Talkies banner, promotions are still being carried out by the makers, who have now released the video song for the smash hit, 'Kannu Thangom' song on YouTube.

Sung by Sid Sriram and Shakthisree Gopalan and lyrics penned by Siva Ananth, the 'Kannu Thangom' song is featured on lead actors Sarathkumar and Radhika Sarathkumar and Vikram Prabhu and Aishwarya Rajesh, who are playing their kids in the film. Prior to the film's theatrical release, the 'Kannu Thangom' song received a massive response with Sid Sriram to hit the bullseye in his first film as a composer. Vaanam Kottattum's star cast also includes Madonna Sebastian, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Nandaa, Amitash Pradhan, Balaji Sakthivel, Madhusudhana Rao and others in important supporting roles.
