UTV enters Mollywood

One of the largest film production and distribution companies, UTV Motion Pictures is foraying into Malayalam with director Saji Surendran's upcoming film Husbands in Goa, starring Jayasurya, Asif Ali, Biju Menon, Indrajith, Bhama, Bhavana and Samvritha Sunil. UTV's last film in the South was the Vikram starrer Deiva Thiirumagal.

Husbands in Goa will go on floors in February 2012. It is the story of three husbands (Jayasurya, Indrajith and Asif) who are on a trip to Goa to take a break from their messy married lives. During the trip, they become friends with a rogue husband (Biju Menon), who is on the verge divorcing his wife (Rima Kallingal). Things get more interesting when their wives join them in Goa and from then on, it is a cat-and-mouse game.

Indrajith plays a lawyer in a family court. He is married to Bhavana, the pampered sister of four brothers. Owing to her laziness, he has to do the household chores. Jayasurya, the second friend, is a chartered accountant; Bhama, his wife, is an extremely devotional type. Asif Ali, a bank officer, is the third, married to Samvritha Sunil, a highly educated woman who runs entrance coaching class. Music is by M.G. Sreekumar.
