Kalpana, is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Kanchana, directed by choreographer- actor-director Raghava Lawrence. Veteran Tamil director Ramanarayanan directs the remake version. Lakshmi Rai, who played the leading lady in the original version, stars opposite Upendra in the remake version. Sai Kumar plays a transgender in the movie. Harikrishna is the music composer.
