Trisha has been signed to play the female lead in Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar's next film, Dvitva. Last month, it was officially announced that Puneeth Rajkumar will be teaming up with director Pawan Kumar for a new film titled Dvitva and the film's title look poster garnered wide attention. Pawan Kumar is known for his strong content driven thriller dramas like Lucia and U-Turn and when a filmmaker of this style teamed up with a star hero like Puneeth Rajkumar, the fans were super excited. Last night (August 2), the makers officially announced that Trisha will be playing the female lead in Dvitva and it has turned out to be delightful news.

Dvitva will mark Trisha's return to Kannada cinema after 7 long years, with her last film being Power which released in 2014. Incidentally, Power featured Puneeth Rajkumar as the lead and Trisha played his love interest. Details regarding Trisha's role in Dvitva are yet to be known. Trisha took to her official Twitter page to express her happiness about being a part of this exciting film. Trisha tweeted, "So happy to be on board with this powerhouse of talent 😇". Dvitva is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, the makers of KGF: Chapter 1 & 2.

Trisha has quite an interesting lineup of films in her kitty and it includes Raangi, Sugar, Garjanai, and the long delayed Sathuranga Vettai 2. Trisha is also a part of the mega biggie, Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Lyca Productions, in association with Madras Talkies. Trisha will be seen playing the female lead in Ponniyin Selvan, as Kundhavai. Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play the other leads in the film. Trisha also has Mohanlal's Ram, in her pipeline, but that project is currently put on hold due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
