'Top Star' Prashanth's next film, Andhagan, is an official remake of the blockbuster Hindi film, Andhadhun, and has the leading Tamil star reprising the role of a blind pianist played by Ayushmann Khurrana. Directed by Prashanth's father Thiagarajan who is also producing the film under the Staar Movies banner, the upcoming remake of the smash hit 2018 black comedy crime thriller also has Simran and Priya Anand as the female leads, with chart-buster composer Santhosh Narayanan taking care of the music and the background score. Production on Andhagan had begun early last year, with the team on late Friday evening making the announcement that production on the film has officially been wrapped.

The buzz and excitement for Andhagan has been positive right from the get go as fans await to witness Prashanth to hit the bullseye this time considering his last few films haven't exactly been on mark. Having on board an actress of Simran's talent and calibre is also a major plus for Andhagan who will be reprising Tabu's role, with Priya Anand also looking apt for the role portrayed by Radhika Apte. With the production on Andhagan wrapped, there are now reports also doing the rounds stating that post-production works have already begun, with plans to release the film in September.

Apart from Prashanth, Simran and Priya Anand, Andhagan's star cast also features veteran actor Karthik, Samuthirakani, Vanitha Vijayakumar, director KS Ravikumar, Urvashi, Manobala, Yogi Babu, Leela Samson in pivotal roles. The hype for Andhagan is high considering Andhadhun in Hindi turned out to be a raging box office success, with Ayushmann Khurrana's performance going on to be hailed by many, with expectations among fans and critics for Prashanth to come up with a memorable outing once again.
