Hansika made headlines recently for publicly acknowledging her relationship with STR. The couple will be seen together in Vettai Manan and Vaalu, both are in the making for a long time and is expected to release soon. This Punjabi kudi began her acting career as a child artiste in TV serials and then debuted in films with Koi Mil Gaya (Hindi). Her first film as a heroine was Puri Jagannath's Telugu flick Desamuduru, followed by Kantri, Maska, Billa, Jayeebhava and Seetharamula Kalyanam. She made her Kollywood debut with Mappillai, however Rajesh's OKOK took her Tamil career to greater heights. Settai, Singam 2 and Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru are her recent hits in Tamil. She will also bee seen opposite Sivakarthikeyan in Maan Karate. Among the young crop of heroines, Hansika's sure strides have given the jitters to many top names of the industry.
Known for her philanthropic activities, Hansika has also adopted 23 children in need of assistance, she is also funding the medical treatment for cancer patients. Currently, she is meeting the financial requirements of 10 women, who are undergoing treatment for the disease, as an indication of her support for the pink campaign that raises awareness against breast cancer.
