Three Delhi Police constables of the metro unit were given suspension orders on the grounds of indiscipline. A senior officer has stated that the trio had lied about coming in contact with a Sub-Inspector (SI), who had tested positive for coronavirus on April 28, after being posted at the Shastri Park Police Station. According to the police, the three policemen later said they wanted to be sent home for self-isolation after their duty with the infected SI. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) Harendra Kumar Singh said, "They claimed about coming in contact with the SI who tested positive for coronavirus but upon checking, we found that they had lied to skip duty,".

Another senior officer stated that the 57-year-old SI, who tested positive for COVID-19, was either home or in the room of the investigation officers over the past few days and was not visible anywhere outside. He further added that the three policemen could have rather applied for leave or rest on medical grounds as the department has been rotating staff in order to lessen the burdens on the personnel. It is said the Sub Inspector had undergone a medical examination after developing a fever on April 21 after which he was sent home.
