A multi-starrer unlike any film in recent times, Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is gearing up to be one of the biggest films in Tamil cinema history.

Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman joins hands yet again with the ace filmmaker under the joint production of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions for the film also being made in Telugu as Nawab.

As known already, the multi-talented Simbu is playing one of the leads in the film.

STR will also be joined by yet another popular star in the form of 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who is said to be playing a cop.

Meanwhile, reports have now popped up stating the upcoming schedule will feature scenes to be shot centered around Simbu and Vijay Sethupathi and that they both will be seen extensively in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.

Their combination scenes are expected to be shot once a resolution is formed for the ongoing strike enforced by the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) against the Digital Service Providers (DSPs). The strike took effect from March 16, which has led to a total shutdown to production as well as post-production works on all films that are in progress.

In addition, we had reported that Jyothika and Arvind Swami will playing a married couple in the film.

Arun Vijay, who reaped laurels from all corners for power-packed performances in Yennai Arindhaal and Kuttram 23, has been hard at work at the gym to fine tune his physique for his role in Ratnam’s film.

After leaving everybody spellbound with her beauty and performance, Aditi Rao Hydari will once again be seen in a Mani Ratnam film.
