2021 is now upon us and the Tamil film industry will be looking to turn the tables around after a disastrous 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to immeasurable loss of life around the world, including an economic downturn. Tamil cinema is counting on 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj under Xavier Britto's XB Film Creators banner to revive the ailing industry, with the film gearing up for a massive  theatrical release this Pongal on January 13. Having said that, the makers on Tuesday dropped an announcement informing fans that the 'Vaathi Coming' song on YouTube has crossed 100 million views, while also revealing that there will be a Master promo releasing on each day till the day the film comes out.

XB Film Creators tweeted, "Each day is a #Master celebration!  Let's add to the celebration with new #MasterPromo every evening.  Stay tuned! 😎 #100MViewsForVaathiComing". Likewise, the makers have now released the first Master promo, which includes visuals of Vijay from the 'Vaathi Coming' song. There were expectations that the much-awaited Master trailer would be coming out in view of the film's release, which the makers have now opted out of and instead are treating fans to a promo every evening.

Being distributed by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios, Master will reportedly be releasing in more than 800 theatres in Tamil Nadu alone. It is to be noted that the Tamil Nadu government on Monday had granted permission for 100% occupancy in theatres, cinema halls and multiplexes across the state in line with the COVID-19 norms, which now allows more fans to watch the film as was before the pandemic. Master's release is not only being awaited by fans, but by the theatre owners and the trade, with expectations sky-high that the film will be the launchpad to revive the industry once again.

Master also starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist has been benefited by his addition to the cast as his chemistry as witnessed in the film's electrifying teaser left fans wanting for more of his showdown with Vijay. A pan-Indian release, the film is also being released simultaneously in Hindi under the title Vijay The Master alongside the Tamil, Telugu and the Kannada versions. Master includes chart-buster music by Anirudh Ravichander, with the film's diverse cast also including names like Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, followed by Andrea Jeremiah, Kaithi villain Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Gouri Kishan, Master Mahendran, KPY Dheena, Ramya Subramanian, Azhagam Perumal among others.
