One of the most anticipated films gearing up for a release this year, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Bigil, coming out in theatres next month for Diwali, has been produced by AGS Entertainment and also marks the superstar’s third-time collaboration with director Atlee after their previous blockbusters, Theri and Mersal. With the film's audio launched and the teaser announced to be unveiled in the first week of October, the excitement is scaling upwards with each passing day. Meanwhile, the film has already run into trouble now as representatives and members of the Tamil Nadu Meat Shop Owners have issued a statement criticizing the Bigil first look poster. They state that Vijay being depicted on the poster with his foot mounted on the wooden log used to cut meat has left them offended. Furthermore, protests are now being carried out against the film as various members have taken to the streets to oppose the poster that was released nearly three months back on the occasion of Vijay's birthday on June 22.
The response for the film’s promotional material has so far been astounding with fans on social networking forums engaging in long discussions while trying to decode the various hidden aspects in it. It remains to be seen how the Bigil team now responds to this controversy that has now taken a new dimension with various protests being conducted.
