The entire team of Thalaivaa (including Vijay, Sathyaraj, Amala Paul, director Vijay, producers, cinematographer Nirav Shah, music director G.V. Prakash and the entire technical team) is likely to go on hunger strike in the city today or tomorrow. The producers have approached the Chennai police commissioner for permission for the fast. Thalaivaa graced all over the world on August 9, except Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Producer Chandra Prakash Jain has requested the intervention of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha to help the film's release. Chandraprakash Jain said in a press meet, "I will be brought to the streets with my family if the film does not release this weekend."
