A film that has set the expectations as high as the sky, 'Thala' Ajith's upcoming Valimai, touted to be an intense action feast, resumed filming once again earlier this month on the outskirts of Chennai, with popular Telugu actor Karthikeya, who has been cast as the antagonist. The cast and crew have been adhering to the COVID-19 protocols and have since moved to Hyderabad to film the next leg of the shoot at the grand Ramoji Film City. Ajith as well is part of the ongoing schedule at Hyderabad with the film's director H. Vinoth and is one of the first A-league stars in Tamil cinema to get back to his film commitments.

Having said that, Valimai, which has been carrying huge hype ever since the project was announced last year, has now added actress Saranya Ravichandran to its cast. Known for her roles in films namely Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, Iraivi, Vada Chennai, Tolet, 96, including director Bala's Varmaa, the up-and-coming talent impressed fans in last year's critically-acclaimed Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu, in which she was seen playing Riythvika's friend. Now, Saranya Ravichandran has taken to her Twitter page to update fans that she has been taking part in the shooting at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, while also posting a few pictures of herself. Valimai and the recently-announced Vishal-Arya starrer are the only Tamil films revealed to currently being filmed at the popular integrated film studio complex.

Producer Boney Kapoor, who is producing Valimai under his Bayview Projects LLP banner, had announced soon after the nationwide lockdown that promotions for the film will not be carried out until the coronavirus pandemic situation takes a better turn. Although the news left a number of Ajith's fans disappointed, pictures of the superstar earlier this week during the shooting at the Ramoji Film City left them ecstatic and his name once again began trending nationwide on social networking forums within minutes.

Valimai marks the second consecutive occasion Ajith, director H. Vinoth, producer Boney Kapoor and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja are teaming up after last year's blockbuster, Nerkonda Paarvai, an official remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu starrer, Pink. Considering Valimai is not a remake and is an original film on the lines of H. Vinoth's previous ventures such as Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, fans have tremendous belief that he will deliver the goods once again this time.

Apart from Ajith, Karthikeya and the newly-added Saranya Ravichandran, Valimai will include Kaala fame Huma Qureshi, Yogi Babu, Raj Ayyappa among others forming the cast, with the film also touted to feature several bike chase scenes and high octane action sequences.
