One of the biggest superstars in South India, actor Ajith Kumar is one celebrity who usually keeps to himself and doesn't make public appearances too often. The celebrated actor doesn't hold a presence on any social networking forums either yet his fan following continues to keep scaling upwards every year. In the meantime, a photograph of Ajith with director G. Mohan of the upcoming Tamil film, Draupathi, has been going viral on social media along with a rumor that the swashbuckling superstar had recently congratulated the filmmaker for his new film.

That said, G. Mohan has now taken to his Twitter page to issue a statement saying the picture was taken five years back when he had met Ajith as a fan while adding that the actor did not convey any wishes in any form for Draupathi. Check out his tweet below:

There has been quite a lot of controversy surrounding Draupathi due to its subject of inter-caste marriages and also because the film stars Richard Rishi, actress Shalini's younger brother and the brother-in-law of Ajith. Apart from Richard, Draupathi includes Nishanth, Soundarya, Lena, Seshu, Aaru Bala, Jeeva Ravi, Ilango, Gopinath in supporting roles and has been produced by G. Mohan himself under his GM Film Corporation banner.

As for 'Thala' Ajith, the actor had a spectacular 2019, and is at present working on his new film, Valimai, under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner being directed by H. Vinoth; both of whom the star had collaborated iearlier n the intense courtroom drama, Nerkonda Paarvai. Valimai will see Ajith as a police officer with the film announced to come out as a grand Diwali release later this year featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
