Thala Ajith is currently working on his next film, Valimai, which is directed by H Vinoth of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Nerkonda Paarvai fame. This stylish action thriller is produced by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects LLP. With music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Nirav Shah, the film has Kaala fame Huma Qureshi playing the female lead. The makers are yet to officially announce the film’s antagonist. It is said that Valimai will have a lot of high octane action sequences and important bike chase sequences and it is going to be one of the major attractions.

The film’s shooting is currently stalled due to the global pandemic and the makers are waiting for the wave to subside. Considering the fact that Valimai is planned to be shot in foreign locations on a grand scale, the team will wait for the situation to get better and one is not yet sure on when the shooting will resume. Valimai will be Ajith’s 60th film and it has got high expectations among the fans.

Meanwhile, a section of media had reported that Ajith would be teaming up with director Sudha Kongara of Soorarai Pottru and Irudhi Suttru fame for his 61st film. Additionally, it was reported that AGS Entertainment, who produced Thalapathy Vijay’s Bigil, will be bankrolling this new project. With three big names rumoured to come together for a project, this news created a huge buzz on social media and there were various speculations. However, when we inquired with our sources close to actor Ajith, the news was denied as baseless rumour.

It is a known fact that Ajith doesn’t confirm any of his projects before completing his ongoing film, which is what even director Venkat Prabhu told, a few weeks before. Anything authentic development regarding Thala 61 should possibly be known only close to the completion of Valimai.

As for Sudha Kongara, the talented filmmaker is currently awaiting the release of her next, Soorarai Pottru which is scheduled for a direct OTT release on October 30. Sudha has also made a short film starring Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Kalidas Jayaram and Bhavani Sre, for a Netflix anthology, that also has portions directed by filmmakers like Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vetri Maaran and Vignesh Shivan.
