Tanisha's unfulfilled dream!
Popular Bollywood actress Tanisha, who debuted in Tamil with Unnale Unnale (2007) and in Telugu with Kantri (2008), has a very solid filmy background indeed!
Tanisha comes from a family which has been working in Bollywood since the 1940s and her relatives include paternal grandfather Sashadhar Mukherjee, uncles Joy Mukherjee and Deb Mukherjee, great-grandmother Rattan Bai, grandmother Shobhna Samarth and aunt Nutan. Her parents are Shomu Mukherjee and Tanuja. Kajol is her elder sister and actor Ajay Devgan is her brother-in-law. Rani Mukherjee is her cousin.
Despite all this, nothing seems to be working for Tanisha in her acting career. She debuted in films in 2003 with Sssshhh, and has done nine films in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu but is yet to become famous. Tanisha has been in Los Angeles for nearly three months to pursue a career in Hollywood, but she is now back to Mumbai as things didn’t work out there too!
According to sources, during her three-month stay in Los Angeles, the actress had even hired a local agent to get a break in Hollywood. "Tanisha is frustrated. She now plans to revive her Bollywood career and has done an item song in forthcoming Tum Milo To Sahi with Suniel Shetty. Apart from Tum Milo To Sahi, she has no films on hand," a source close to the actress revealed.
Reportedly, her sister-actress Kajol recently sought help from Ajay Devgn, who has turned to his trusted friend and director Rohit Shetty to plan a re-launch film for her. This film will go on the floors by the end of 2010 and Ajay is planning to buy the rights of a Malayalam film to remake it.
