Tamil director Susi Ganesan, who is busy promoting his debut Bollywood venture Shortcut Romeo, has received a special honour from the Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley o bestow the honor for his contribution to the entertainment industry. Susi Ganeshan and his team were in New York to promote their film after screening the movie at Cannes. Dr. Rajan Natarajan, Deputy Secretary of State of Maryland and one of the high-ranking Indian-American political appointee, presented the citation signed by Governor Martin O'Malley to the director in New York.

Interestingly, Shortcut Romeo is the remake of his Tamil blockbuster Thiruttu Payale. The film stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ameesha Patel and Puja Gupta in lead roles. Himesh Reshmmiya has scored the music and N.K. Ekambaram is the cinematographer. Dilip Deo and Hardik Singh Reen have taken care of editing.
