Looks like K.V. Anand had Suriya in mind while writing the script of Maattrraan. "Suriya was my only choice. It’s a very tough film for any actor to do because we have to film every single scene twice. He’s someone who is totally committed towards the making. It was he who called me to find out what was happening with the script and if we could begin work," the director said in an exclusive interview to Galatta Cinema.
When asked about the core of picking this subject for the film, he said "The element of twins leading an unusual life triggered a spark of interest in me as a filmmaker."
