Suriya celebrated his birthday on July 23 and it was a special birthday indeed, both for Suriya and his fans. The title and first look promo of Suriya's next, Etharkkum Thunindhavan was officially announced and also the first look poster of his film with director TJ Gnanavel, Jai Bhim was also unveiled. The fans were delighted to see back to back updates and releases from Etharkkum Thunindhavan and Jai Bhim. Having said that, Suriya took to his official Twitter page this morning (July 25) to express his heartfelt thanks to all of them who wished him for his birthday and made the day special. He also acknowledged the social welfare activities that were done by his fans.

Suriya's tweet read, "It was a very special day for me only because of all your loving wishes and so many socially responsible deeds! Really want to thank each and everyone of you personally, will do as many as I can!!" Suriya is currently in Karaikkudi, shooting for Etharkkum Thunindhavan, directed by Pandiraj. Etharkkum Thunindhavan will be a rural mass action entertainer that is expected to be a treat for the fans. The film is produced by Sun Pictures and has music composed by D Imman. Priyanka Arul Mohan plays the female lead, while Sathyaraj, Vinay, Saranya Ponvannan, MS Bhaskar, Devadarshini, and others play supporting roles. The film is expected to release in the theatres by the end of this year.

Suriya will also be seen playing an important role in Jai Bhim, directed by TJ Gnanavel of Kootathil Oruthan fame. Suriya's next release will be Navarasa which marks his debut in the digital space. Navarasa is an upcoming anthology that will stream on Netflix on August 6 and Suriya will be seen playing the lead role in the segment, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The Suriya - Gautham Menon film is called Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru and it has got high expectations among the fans and film buffs.
