Actor Suriya starrer Etharkkum Thunindhavan (ET) which was released on 10 March 2022 was one of the most anticipated movies of this year. It opened to a positive response from Suriya fans, critics as well as the general public. This wholesome family entertainer portrays the hard truth about the deep personal trauma women face on an everyday basis, the cruel judgments they are subjected to, and also how legal justice is almost inaccessible to most victims which resonates with the audience.

Those who missed out on watching the movie or were unable to catch it in theatres, fret not as ET has locked not one but two OTT partners. The post-theatrical digital streaming rights of ET were acquired by both Sun NXT Netflix and will be made available for streaming soon from April 7 onwards. The film will be streaming on Netflix in various languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The official Twitter handle of Sun NXT made the official announcement for the film's OTT release.

ET was Suriya's first film to release in theatres post the infamous coronavirus pandemic. The action thriller was written and directed by Pandiraj and is backed by renowned production banner Sun Pictures. ET was distributed by Red Giant Movies and was released in Tamil along with its dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film stars Suriya and Priyanka Arul Mohan as the film's male and female leads respectively, with Vinay Rai taking on the role of an antagonist. The film's story revolves around how Kannabiran (Suriya) turns into an executioner to fight against the unfair violence against women in India. The film received good reviews ranging with massive praise for the performances of the cast and the message the film conveyed which in turn resulted in the film being commercially successful.
