Maanaadu has been a project that has managed to excite the fans ever since its announcement two years back. The film features STR in the lead role and it is expected to be the comeback film for the multi talented artist. Simbu will be seen playing the role of Abdul Khaaliq and it is touted to be a very interesting character. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Maanaadu features S.J.Surya as one the antagonists, while the star cast also includes names like Bharathiraja, S.A.Chandrasekhar, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Udhayaa, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, and others.

This political drama will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Praveen KL. The shooting of this movie is currently stalled just like any other film due to the pandemic and one does not know when the shooting will resume. Having said that, the film’s producer Suresh Kamatchi took to his Twitter page to reply to all the fans who were regularly asking for updates. He said that the film’s shooting will resume immediately after the Government grants permission.

He tweeted, "Hi friends, EveryOne r asking abt #Maanaadu updates. As of nw Industry s waiting for Government's Green signal. Once the permission granded immediately, we wl b on floor...stay safe #SilambarasanTRFans #STRFans”. This tweet from Suresh Kamatchi has made the fans happy, given the fact that they were waiting for some sort of update for the past few months.

Going by his tweet, looks like the team of Maanaadu are ready to resume shooting anytime and let us hope that situation gets back to normalcy soon. The makers have so far shot a few important scenes in Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad and a few places in Chennai. Being a political film, Maanaadu, demands to be shot on a grand scale with a lot of people and having said that, it is going to be a challenging task to maintain social distancing and other precautionary measures.

It can be noted that the entire team of Maanaadu were all praise for Simbu’s dedication and involvement as an actor in this film and let us hope that the momentum maintains throughout the project. For now, check out Suresh Kamatchi’s tweet about Maanaadu here:
