STR’s Maanaadu has got huge expectations among the fans and it is expected to be a strong comeback film for the talented actor. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this political drama’s shooting began in the month of February this year, but due to the unexpected pandemic situation, the shooting has now been stalled, just like any other film. The makers have so far shot some important sequences and a song in Chennai and Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Having said that, recently a section of the media reported that the film could be dropped due to the complexity involved in shooting with a large number of people.

It looks like this speculation has irked the film’s producer Suresh Kamatchi who made a strong clarification on his social media page. Taking to his Twitter page, Suresh Kamatchi shared a newspaper article that said, ‘Maanaadu dropped?’. Suresh Kamatchi said that the film is not dropped and added that he might have to sue media companies which spread false rumours about the film. He sounded quite angry with constant rumours regarding the project.

If such a news comes hereafter i wl sue the concern media.I always respect media team and being close to thm. I never gave any statement like this.Without cross checking wth a producer hw can a reputed publication print a news? #Maanaadu never going to drop.Plz stop ur table work”, tweeted Suresh Kamatchi. It can be noted that Suresh Kamatchi had recently stated that the team of Maanaadu are waiting for the lockdown to be uplifted so that they can resume with the shooting.

Apart from STR, Maanaadu’s star cast also includes the likes of S.J.Surya, Bharathiraja, S.A.Chandrasekhar, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaran, Daniel Annie Pope, Manoj Bharathiraja and others. STR will be seen playing the role of ‘Abdul Khaaliq’ and this film is expected to showcase him in a completely new dimension.

The film has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja who has got a great rapport with both Simbu and Venkat Prabhu and having said that, we can expect Yuvan to deliver a chartbuster album for Maanaadu. Yuvan has already recorded one song which has been penned by lyricist Madhan Karky. Richard M Nathan is the cinematographer and Praveen KL is the editor of this film.
