Following the stupendous success of Petta, Superstar Rajinikanth had begun work on his next movie, with director AR Murugadoss. This movie titled Darbar, bankrolled by Lyca Productions, has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Santosh Sivan and editing by Sreekar Prasad. Sometime back, it was announced that the shooting had been wrapped up and that the post production work had begun. While there were widespread speculations that Darbar's audio launch would happen on December 12th, to coincide with the Superstar's birthday, we had broken the news that the audio launch would happen in the first week of December itself! Now, we have a confirmed update on the same!

Our sources close to the Darbar team confirm that the audio launch is set to happen on the 7th of December, at the Nehru Indoor Stadium. Some media houses are stating that Kamal Haasan might be the special guest at this audio launch but we hear that it has not been confirmed as yet. Darbar's makers would definitely be inviting Kamal but his presence has not been confirmed yet! Superstar Rajinikanth would be seen in a Khaki uniform for the first time in 27 years, after Pandian. Nayanthara plays the female lead in Darbar, which is the Superstar's 167th movie in his career!

Most of Darbar's shoot happened in Mumbai and many Bollywood actors like Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Jatin Sarna, Dalip Tahil and Nawab Shah would be seen alongside popular Kollywood actors like Nivetha Thomas, Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiah and Sriman. Major speculations are that Darbar would be hitting the screens for Pongal 2020, on 10th January. However, the release date has not been confirmed as yet. Also, Superstar would next be working with director Siruthai Siva for a Sun Pictures production. Meanwhile, just a couple of minutes back, director Murugadoss has tweeted that the dubbing for Darbar has just begun! Stay tuned...
