Bollywood superstar Suniel Shetty, whom Tamil cinema fans will know from the romantic film 12B and the 'Superstar' Rajinikanth starrer Darbar in which he played the villain, is now launching his son Ahan Shetty into the world of cinema. Ahan will be making his big-screen debut in blockbuster director Milan Luthra's Tadap, which has been announced for a worldwide release this year on September 24. Described to be an "incredible love story", Tadap has Ahan paired opposite Tara Sutaria, with the film's first look poster being unveiled by Suniel Shetty's close friend Akshay Kumar.

In the Tadap first look poster, we see a wounded Ahan Shetty, whose face has not been revealed, and hugging Tara Sutaria. Sharing the poster, Akshay Kumar wrote, "Big day for you Ahan...I still remember seeing your father,  @SunielVShetty ’s first film, Balwaan’s poster and today I’m presenting yours.... so happy and proud to share the poster of #SajidNadiadwala‘s #Tadap *ing #AhanShetty and  @TaraSutaria , releasing in cinemas on 24th Sept!" An official remake of the Telugu blockbuster RX100, starring Kartikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput in the lead roles, Tadap featuring Ahan and Tara has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner in association with Fox Star Studios and includes music by Pritam.

Speaking about Tadap, Milan Luthria said a while back, "The plot of the film is very intriguing. It is a love saga which will leave the audience surprised. It is a stark love story, with both the leads having strong parts. I have seen Tara and Ahan perform together during the rehearsal workshops and they have immense chemistry." Suniel Shetty, in an interview spoke about his son's debut and said, "Ahan is going to get launched in December and is in very safe hands. He is learning acting in London currently and his film is being produced by Bollywood’s number one producer Sajid Nadiadwala which is even backed by Fox entertainment. So I think Ahan is in safe hands and other things depend on his talent, personality and luck."

It is to be noted that Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya made her film debut in 2015 with Hero opposite Sooraj Pancholi, which was produced by Salman Khan. As for Suniel, he is currently awaiting the release of the multi-starrer Mumbai Saga in Hindi, Mohanlal's epic historical film Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea in Malayalam, including his Telugu debut Mosagallu, which has Vishnu Manchu and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles.
