A project that raised instant curiosity when it was announced earlier this year, Karthi’s Sulthan was revealed to include Telugu sensation, Rashmika Mandanna, as the heroine under Remo fame director Bakkiyaraj Kannan. Being produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, Sulthan had run into an unforeseen trouble as protests against the film’s shoot at Dindigul Malaikottai had taken place on September 24 with a group claiming the upcoming action comedy entertainer was inspired from the life history of Tipu Sultan. Following the protests, Dream Warrior Pictures have now issued an official press statement in which they go on to address the actions of the said group/organization behind the commotion at the Sulthan shooting spot denying the film's association with anything to do with the ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore while also adding that such activities that show culture and history in a bad light need to be outright condemned and stopped.
