Sridevi inaugurates Kimaya Fashion Store

When Kimaya – an important name in the fashion industry and one of the nation’s leading fashion stores – looked for a prominent personality to inaugurate their Chennai outlet, they did not have to think much. Sridevi, who ruled Bollywood in the 90s, was their first choice; second – none, for they could not think of anyone else with such a clout on Bollywood, the film industry that heralds many fashion fads into the nation and works hand-in-glove with our fashion industry. And Sridevi is the right choice, for the actress has a clear understanding of fashion, knows whatsuits her personality and even paved the way for many fads in the times when the Indian fashion industry was in its nascent stage.

So, there she was, the beauty who created such a furore up North in the 90s, inaugurating Kimaya’s outlet in Nungambakkam, Chennai, which houses modern and ethnic wear (for both men and women) plus a beautiful collection of fashion accessories – all branded! Kimaya itself is a big name when it comes to brands and the store has an exclusive collection of their own unique designs. And, would-be brides should check out Kimaya’s bridal collection! For men, this is one-shop stop for all their fashion needs! Kimaya is not just about apparels and fashion accessories, but this 10,000 sq. ft boutique also has a beauty salon and a spa!

Founded by Pradeep Hirani and Neha Hirani, Kimaya grew manifold and soon established its sprawling stores in New Delhi and Bangalore. Now, with its arrival in Chennai, Kimaya has put Chennai City on the map of fashion industry.

At the inauguration, allheads turned in the direction of Sridevi, following the beauty draped elegantly in a glittering green saree wherever she went. Giving a complex to many a glitterati present at the function with her keen sense of fashion and elegant looks, Sridevi inaugurated the showroom and also examined its eclectic collection.

The function was also attended by many famous personalities of Kollywood, including Srikanth, Vincent Asokan and Vimala Raman.
