With the entire nation still reeling in shock over actor Sridevi Kapoor’s death on Saturday, there has been much commotion since then.
Meanwhile, the question among everyone’s lips across the country has been when Sridevi’s mortal remains would be handed over to her family to perform the final rituals.
After a wait of nearly two days, the Dubai Media Office has now come out with an official statement that says the mortal remains of Sridevi have been handed over to her husband Boney Kapoor after being examined by the Dubai Public Prosecution.

Dubai Public Prosecution has approved the release of the body of the Indian actress Sridevi to her family following the completion of a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of her death.

Dubai Public Prosecution stressed that all regular procedures followed in such cases have been completed. As per the forensic report, the death of the Indian actress occurred due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness. The case has now been closed.

The Consulate General of India in Dubai too issued a statement saying letters for the release of Sridevi’s mortal remains have been handed over to her family members as well as the Consulate by the Dubai Police.
Update: Dubai Police has handed over the Consulate and the family members letters for the release of the mortal remains of the Indian cinema icon Sridevi Boney Kapoor so that they can proceed for embalming.

Sridevi’s family will now proceed to perform the embalming procedure after which her mortal remains will be flown in to Mumbai, India at most after midnight.
