Legendary singer S.P.Balasubrahmanyam is getting treated for Corona at MGM Healthcare Hospital in Chennai. Earlier today (August 24), there was a confusion regarding his health condition as there was an update stating that he was tested negative for the virus. However, a few minutes later, SPB’s son and singer Charan released a video stating that his father is still on the ventilator and requested people to refrain from spreading rumours. He also requested the fans to rely only on the updates that are shared by him and the hospital management which has been releasing press notes on a daily basis.

Having said that, MGM Healthcare has released today’s (August 24) health bulletin of SPB and it states that the veteran singer continues to be on ventilator and ECMO support. They’ve also added that his health condition is stable. The official statement reads, "Thiru S P Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare due to COVID-19 continues to be on ventilator and ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His current clinical condition is stable and he continues to be closely monitored by our multidisciplinary clinical team”.

Singer S.P.Balasubrahmanyam was admitted to the hospital on August 5 after being infected by the Corona virus. Talking in a video, SPB had said that he had mild symptoms of Covid-19 and assured that he would return to normalcy soon. The fans are currently praying for SPB’s speedy recovery. S.P.Balasubrahmanyam has worked across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam film industries and has won six National Film Awards. He has also been honoured with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. Since his singing debut in 1966 with the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna, Balasubrahmanyam has recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages.
