Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away on Friday at 1.04 PM at the MGM Healthcare hospital in Chennai after being admitted for COVID-19 in the first week of August. The veteran singer-actor, who had been undergoing treatment for more than 50 days, had begun to show signs of recovery, when on Thursday officials in the MGM hospital issued a statement saying his health condition had deteriorated warranting maximum life support. The news of SPB's death has come as a massive shock for the iconic singer's countless fans around the world who have been sharing their condolences, with celebrities as well paying their tributes. 

Now, veteran actor-politician Kamal Haasan has released his tribute for SPB in the form of a video, which includes moments where both appeared together at various occasions on stage and other events. He captioned the video, "அன்னைய்யா S.P.B அவர்களின் குரலின் நிழல் பதிப்பாக பல காலம் வாழ்ந்தது எனக்கு வாய்த்த பேறு. ஏழு தலைமுறைக்கும் அவர் புகழ் வாழும்." (TRANSLATED: It is a great fortune for me to be a vehicle of his mellifluous voice for a quite long period. His name and fame will exist for seven generations). 

In the video, Kamal Haasan says, "Only a few artists attain greatness in their own lifetime. One such person who garnered such acclaim was my closest brother, Thiru. SPB annan. His fans from all over the country have bid farewell to him in the rain of admiration and I am also one among the humble fans. I'm grateful to my elder brother, who has allowed me to get drenched in that rain of adulation. He was a voice for heroes in four languages for five decades and his name will continue to linger in the world of music forever."
