A film that has been billed ambitious right from the beginning, Ayalaan, Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming science-fiction venture being directed by Indru Netru Naalai fame R. Ravikumar has been carrying tremendous expectations and excitement. Being produced by 24AM Studios and KJR Studios distributing the film worldwide, Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman is scoring the music, with the satellite rights going on to be bagged by Sun TV early in early 2018, even before production kicked off.

Ayalaan has been a film in the making for nearly two years, with the makers earlier this year in February unveiling the first look poster featuring Sivakarthikeyan alongside an alien. The Ayalaan first look received an astounding response from fans, with a majority of them taking an instant liking to the lovable alien depicted on the poster. Having said that, KJR Studios has now dropped an important update on their social media pages stating that the last and final schedule of shooting on Ayalaan has begun on Thursday with the lead pair Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh being joined by Yogi Babu and Karunakaran, who have been cast in pivotal roles. A working production still of the four has also been shared to inform on the progress on the film, which also includes En Swasa Kaatre heroine Isha Koppikar, veteran actress Bhanupriya, Sharad Kelkar among others in major starring roles.

The interest surrounding Ayalaan has been sky-high right from the get-go as it will see Oscar winner A. R. Rahman composing tunes for a Sivakarthikeyan film for the first time ever. It was earlier revealed that post-production works are also simultaneously being carried out as the entire VFX team has been working on the visual effects. Adding visual magic with unique treatment from one film to another, Nirav Shah’s cinematography as well will be one of the promising aspects of Ayalaan, which will include Ruben doing the editing. The film's talented technical crew also comprises names like Muthuraj Thangavel for the production design and the stunts by Anbumani and Arivumani, known among fans as Anbariv, the duo behind the power-packed action sequences in K. G. F: Chapter 1, which fetched them the National Award.
