Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, the 87-year-old veteran director is back to Tamil after a long gap of 14 years. The man who has given us some cult classic Tamil films like Apoorva Sagodharargal, Raja Paarvai, Kaathala Kaathala, Magalir Mattum and Michael Madana Kama Rajan is back. His last Tamil film was Mumbai Xpress which released in the year 2005.

This time, Singeetam is working on a Tamil web-series. He has written the story but he will not be directing the show; that responsibility has been handed over to Badri Venkatesh who we know has directed films such as Banna Kathadi and Semma Botha Aagatha.

Trendloud has funded this venture which will be released on Sonyliv. This big announcement was made today, May 28 at the press conference held by Sonyliv who are venturing into Tamil web series. They are also partnering with leading directors like Gautham Menon and Balaji Mohan.

Speaking at the event Balaji Mohan said, “I wanted to be a filmmaker who does both feature films and digital content ventures. While working on the script of Maari2, I got time to open up to this format. I'm happy I made the decision long back, and hope to continue it.”
