The title and first look of RJ Balaji's next which is written and directed by Gokul were revealed today during the India Vs England T20 World Cup semi-final match taking place in Australia. Titled 'Singapore Saloon', the film features Balaji as a hairdresser. The reveal was made at the Tamil commentary box of Star Sports where director Lokesh Kanagaraj joined the RJ actor for the session.

The film was revealed through the official Twitter handle of Vels Film International who will be producing the film. Sharing the first look poster of the film, they wrote, ".@RJ_Balaji is back with another exciting film, this time in the direction of @DirectorGokul 👏 Here's the first look poster of #SingaporeSaloon - a fun filled entertainer on the way to theatres in summer 2023! The next promising venture from @VelsFilmIntl". Check it out:

The poster features Balaji sporting a beard, tie, and a hairdresser apron with all the necessary tools in them. Vels Film International have previously bankrolled Balaji's 2019 political satire film LKG and the 2020  fantasy film Mookuthi Amman. Singapore Saloon is expected to hit the screens sometime in the summer of 2022. Shivani Rajasekar, who made her debut with the family drama Hip-hop Tamizha starrer film Anbarivu, is said to be playing the female lead.

It has also been rumored that ace director Lokesh Kanagaraj will be making a cameo appearance in the film. Thought nothing of that sort has been confirmed, it is still exciting that it may be a possibility. Meanwhile, on the work front, RJ Balaji returned to direction with the comedy drama Veetla Visesham earlier this year which is the remake of the 2018 Hindi film Badhaai Ho. He now has this film and another titled Yung Mung Sung in his pipeline.
