Silambarasan TR has started shooting for his next film, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which was officially announced yesterday (August 6). The shooting began yesterday at Tiruchendur and the first schedule will take place for a span of one week. Ace actress Radikaa Sarathkumar, who plays an important role in the film, is a part of the first schedule. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and the film marks his third outing with STR after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is produced by Isari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International and has music composed by A.R.Rahman.

Marking the film's beginning, producer Isari Ganesh has issued a statement, revealing exciting details about the project. Popular writer Jeyamohan has penned the story of this film and Gautham Menon will be directing it. The collaboration definitely sounds exciting and it is going to be interesting to see what the duo has in store for the audience.

Talking about the project, Isari says, "It’s too early. VTK (Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu) is an action movie set across rural and urban backdrops. Jeyamohan has written the script, and the movie will be the 100% reflection of the title. I have always admired Gautham Vasudev Menon’s fascination for beautiful Tamil titles. The title ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ inspired from the famous poem of Poet Bharathiyaar during this auspicious 100th anniversary elates our entire team". Isari was also sure that Silambarasan TR's performance in this film will be widely talked about after the release.

While details regarding the rest of the cast are yet to be known, the technical team has been revealed. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will have cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, while Rajeevan and Anthony will be taking care of the art direction and editing departments respectively. Thamarai will pen the lyrics, while Uthara Menon will handle the costumes. After the completion of the Tiruchendur schedule, the film has been planned to be shot in Mumbai and Chennai.
