Silambarasan TR's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is out in cinemas worldwide and is receiving fantastic word of mouth, while also taking a sensational opening. The gangster film is the third occasion the actor has teamed up with director Gautham Vasudev Menon after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016) and their collaboration has yet again worked like a charm as fans and critics have been showering them with praises. Simbu, who has often been referred to as a controversial actor, sat down for an exclusive interview with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, and opened up on the negativity that has surrounded him and a majority of his career.

Addressing the issue of negativity, Simbu said, "Other people won't take the blame, but I do. And, that is why things get dumped on me easily. What I believe is that every time, for everything, I can't keep giving a response. After a point of time, what happened is that I started taking the blame. So, I began taking everything that came my way, and that kind of set a precedent. But, right now, it's not like that and it has changed considerably." STR's candid reply will come as most refreshing for many fans, who might have had any misconceptions about the career and the cynical views that surround his name.

Talking about his plans for his future films, Silambarasan stated that he hasn't made any decision yet and is currently taking his time listening to different stories. He mentioned that he has heard a few interesting stories from directors, but is not hungry to rush into any project soon. STR added that there is huge hunger in him to pursue something completely out of the box and is in that space to perform or act like never before adding that it is a feeling he had when he took up Manmadhan
