Shriya to reprise Manju Warrier role in Asuran Telugu remake

It has been announced that the Telugu remake of Asuran would star Victory Venkatesh in the lead. Now, we have reports that after a lot of deliberation, Shriya Saran has been chosen to play the female lead. Asuran had Mollywood diva Manju Warrier making her Tamil debut as the female lead and now Shriya Saran is said be reprising her role in the Telugu version. Earlier, even Shah Rukh Khan appreciated Asuran and expressed interest in starring in the Hindi remake of this movie. There are reports that Venkatesh is currently on the lookout to identify a filmmaker to direct the remake.

Shriya was last seen in Tamil, in the 2017 movie Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan, which starred STR in the lead. She has since not been seen in many Tamil movies but is busy with a number of Telugu projects. She has two other Tamil movies in the pipeline - the long pending Naragasooran, alongside Arvind Swamy and Sandakkari.
