Shanmuga Pandian debuted in a 2015 action movie, Sagaptham and had his next release after a 3 years gap, in 2018. After that, his upcoming project was announced officially yesterday on the 13 of June. The makers of the movie, G Entertainers of the untitled flick announced on Twitter that they would be banking Shanmuga Pandian's next, which will be directed by Boobalan. Now, the title design poster of the movie is released and title of the flick has been released. Titled as Mithran, Shanmuga Pandian will donning as a cop, following his father's footsteps. In an interview, Boobalan has also mentioned that just as how Vijaykanth had landmark films in his career like Sethupatji IPS and Chatriyan, Mithran will be the same in Shanmuga Pandian's career. Ronica Singh will be the leading lady of Mithran, that also features actor Vamsy Krishna of Thadayara Thakka.
Music director Thadam fame Arun Raj will be composing tunes for this movie with lyrics penned by Madhan Karky. Editor Ruben will be handling the cuts of the movie and Sathish will be choreographing the moves. The director of the movie, Boobalan has been the co-director of Siruthai Siva in the films Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam.
