The 12th season of the grand Indian Premier League came to an end last Sunday (May 12th). The finals of the league had the two best teams in the history of IPL, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. The game had all the thrilling elements as the match went down to the wire. Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 1 run to lift the trophy for the record fourth time after 2013, 2015 and 2017. Eventhough MI won the trophy, CSK's Shane Watsan was the talk of the town the next day as pictures of Watson playing the match despite bleeding from his knee on the day of the big final. Shane Watson almost took CSK over the the line single-handedly with his innings of 80 off 59 balls but the star batsman was dismmised in the penultimate over of the match via run out.

As everyone was busy speaking about the big final, CSK off-spinner Harbhajan Singh revealed the shocking matter the next day. Harbhajan Singh on his Instagram page posted a picture of Watson playing the final with a bleeding knee injury. The picture went viral on the internet and everone began praising Watson for his dedication.

And now Watson has made his first comment on the incidient through a video statement on Thrusday.

In the video, Watson says,

"Hello everyone, I want to thank everyone for the love, support and best wishes that you've given me over the last couple of days. We were so close to going past the finish line against Mumbai but it was an amazing final. I am looking forward to come back next year to take that one step further. Thanks again, everyone for all the support. WhistlePodu!"
