Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was given a clean chit by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday in the drugs-on-cruise case. The news has been confirmed by news agency ANI in a series of tweets on Twitter. They wrote, "Cruise drug bust case | All the accused persons were found in possession of Narcotics except Aryan and Mohak, reads a statement of Sanjay Kumar Singh, DDG (Operations), NCB". The second tweet read, "A complaint against 14 persons under various sections of the NDPS Act is being filed. Complaint against rest six persons is not being filed due to a lack of evidence: Sanjay Kumar Singh, DDG (Operations), NCB." The news has come as a big relief for Aryan's parents, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan.

In a press release, the NCB said, "SIT carried out its investigation in an objective manner. The touchstone of the principle of proof beyond reasonable doubt has been applied. Based on the investigation carried out by the SIT, a complaint against 14 persons under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act is being filed, it said, adding that complaint against rest six persons is not being filed due to lack of sufficient evidence." The statement further read, "All the accused persons were found in possession of Narcotics except Aryan and Mohak."

The NCB arrested Aryan Khan and several others on October 3, 2021, in an alleged drug bust on the Cordelia Cruise Ship. Although nothing had been recovered from Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant was allegedly in possession of 6gms of charas. Reports further stated that another 5gms of hashish had been retrieved from one Munmun Dhamecha. Later, they were all booked under Sections 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29, and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. A few other guests as well as alleged drug peddlers on the cruise ship were subsequently also taken into custody.
