Iconic Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad is set to make his digital debut in the upcoming film Senapathi, which will be premiering on the aha streaming platform on December 31. An intense action thriller drama, the upcoming film directed by Prema Ishq Kaadhal fame Pavan Sadineni will see Rajendra Prasad as a common man, with Naresh Agastya cast in the role of a rookie police officer and Bigg Boss Tamil season 5 fame Pavni Reddy in a crucial role. Produced by Vishnu Prasad and Sushmita Konidela under the Gold Box Entertainments banner, Senapathi is an official remake of the 2017 Tamil hit 8 Thottakkal and the aha original film's trailer has been released on Wednesday ahead of its streaming premiere.

In the Senapathi trailer, we see Rajendra Prasad as a brooding man, while Naresh Agastya is playing the role of a police officer, who is racing against time to get hold of his gun that he lost while trying to catch a criminal. Although not much is revealed in the visuals, the trailer provides a voice-over about the concept of good and evil. Apart from Rajendra Prasad, Naresh Agastya and Bigg Boss Tamil season 5 fame Pavni Reddy, Senapathi includes an ensemble star cast featuring the likes of Mr & Miss actress Gnaneswari Kandregula, Harshavardhan, Satya Prakash, Rakendu Mouli, Ravi Josh, A Jeevan Kumar, Rocky, among others in pivotal roles, with music director Shravan Bharadwaj, cinematographer Vivek Kalepu and editor Gowtham Nerusu forming the core technical team.

Senapathi will no doubt create a big interest among Tamil cinema fans as it not only is the remake of 8 Thottakkal, which was the directorial debut of Sri Ganesh, but also includes Bigg Boss 5 sensation Pavni in an important role. While Rajendra Prasad will be reprising the character portrayed by veteran actor M. S. Bhaskar, Pavni will be seen in the role of Meera Mithun in Senapathi, while Naresh Agastra is playing Vetri's role as the cop. Pavni, who is a big name among Telugu audiences, had appeared in the lead role on Tamil shows like Rettai Vaal Kuruvi, Pasamalar, EMI-Thavanai Murai Vazhkai, Rasaathi, but went on to become a darling of the masses after starring in the Vijay TV serial Chinna Thambi. It will be interesting to witness Pavni in her role in Senapathi after she was earlier seen in special appearances in Tamil films like Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva and July Kaatril to name a notable few.
