Anti-caste activist Kausalya became a prominent name in the battle against caste and honor killings after her first marriage with Shankar ended in a tragedy as he was killed at Udumalaipet in Tirupur district by hit men hired by her own family on March 13, 2016. Shankar, who hailed from a Dalit community married Kausalya belonging to the Thevar caste eventually earning the wrath of her parents.
Yesterday (09.12.2018) saw Kausalya tie the knot with Sakthi, a Parai artist in Coimbatore with the wedding arranged by Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam founder Kolathur Mani along with Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam General Secretary K Ramakrishnan, May 17 Movement Daniel and Evidence Kathir, and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi Deputy General Secretary Vanniyarasu.
Meanwhile, an emotional Sathyaraj has now conveyed his wishes to both Sakthi and Kausalya on the occasion of their self-respect marriage stating the two have defamed all those who speak high of caste superiority with their wedding. Watch the veteran actor’s full statement in the video below:
