We had recently reported that Sasikumar and director Ponram's uniquely titled MGR Magan would be hitting the screens for Pongal, 2020. Today, the makers of this movie - Screen Scene Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. unveiled the title look of the movie and the poster also carried that the movie would indeed be hitting the screens for Pongal, 2020! Thus, this confirms our news article. We had also mentioned that despite going on floors just last September, the movie is almost complete with just 3 days of shoot left. Now, with this release plan confirmation, it looks like the movie is in for some heavy competition at the Box Office.

Other movies which have been scheduled for a Pongal release, as of now, are Superstar Rajinikanth's Darbar, Prabhu Deva's Pon Manickavel and Mirchi Shiva's Sumo. Now, it is known that Darbar will be the biggest threat for all these other movies, so there is a high possibility that a couple of the other movies might change their release date, as the number of screens would be rather less in availability for them all! Sasikumar starred alongside Rajinikanth in this year's Pongal release - Petta, which went on to become a massive hit at the Box Office.

Gaana singer Antony Dasan is debuting as a music composer with MGR Magan, which also has Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Samuthirakani and Singam Puli as part of the cast. Mrinalini Ravi, who debuted as an actor with the highly acclaimed Super Deluxe, is playing the female lead in this rural entertainer. Meanwhile, Sasikumar's next project, which will have Jyothika as the female lead and is being directed by Era Saravanan of Kathukutty fame, has just gotten underway. He also has Naadodigal 2 awaiting release, while his long pending movie Enai Noki Paayum Thota, released just today!
