Santhanam's last major appearance on the big screen was the sci-fi rom com Dikkiloona, which released in September to a mixed response from fans and critics, with the comedian turned hero set to be seen in a number of upcoming films. Santa, as he is called by fans, will be seen next in the comedy drama Sabhaapathy, which is hitting screens worldwide on November 19. Directed by debutant R Srinivasa Rao under producer C Ramesh Kumar's RK Entertainment banner, promotions for Sabhaapathy are underway, with the team on Monday releasing a sneak peek video featured on Santhanam.

The Sabhaapathy sneak peek video shows Santhanam’s character attending a job interview and struggling to speak due to his stammering problem. In the film, Santhanam plays the role of a youth with a stammering problem, which causes several problems to succeed in his career, while also leaving him struggling in his personal life. We see Santhanam making attempts to answer the questions being asked, but stammers leaving the interviewer to make fun of him. Although Sabhaapathy revolves around the trials and tribulations of Santhanam as a typical middle-class boy-next-door youth, this latest promo is an emotional one.

Apart from the Sabhaapathy sneak peek, the makers had earlier released a couple of songs from the film, which has Preeti Verma playing the female lead. The film has an ensemble cast and will see veteran actor MS Bhaskar as Santhanam's father and their relationship in the film is expected to be a pivotal plot point. Pugazh, who shot to fame after his appearances on Vijay TV's Cooku with Comali, is playing Santhanam's sidekick/best friend in the film and their antics are expected to be a major highlight. Sabhaapathy's technical team includes Sam C. S. for the music, followed by Baskar Arumugam handling the cinematography, Leo John Paul taking care of the editing and art direction by AR Mohan.
