After Saattai and Visaaranai, actor-filmmaker Samuthirakani once again created the buzz with his meaningful Appa. A spiritual sequel to Saattai, the film featured Samuthirakani himself in the lead role, with Thambi Ramaiah in supporting role and music by Ilaiyaraaja. In the film, Samuthirakani played the role of a doting father who fights against the current educational system of the state. We hear that the actor-filmmaker is planning to remake the film in Malayalam with Jayaram and Asha Sarath in the lead.
