Sammir Dattani in Bollywood!

Sammir Dattani, who played the spoiled brat in Kutty, is back with a meaty role in Shyam Benegal's Well Done Abba. “I choose roles that excite me as an actor,” the Sandalwood actor said to a leading English daily.

He plays Aarif, a young garage mechanic in the movie. “He is a small-town boy, progressive, educated and symbolic of youth of today. Aarif falls in love with Muskaan (Minissha Lamba) and has to win over her Abba, played by Boman, to marry her,” he said.

Well Done Abba has already fetched him international exposure, as the film has been screened at a number of film festivals abroad to a positive reception. Sammir will be next seen in Karan Johar's production, I Hate Luv Stories. “I have enjoyed doing films in Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. I have spent a large part of my childhood in Bangalore. Knowing the languages was a big advantage while doing South Indian films,” he added.
