Sagar Theatre owner Rajesh Bhai passes away

The death of Rajesh Patel, known to his close friends as Rajesh Bhai, owner of the prestigious theatre Sagar in Bengaluru, has made Sandalwood cry.

The sudden death of Rajesh occured just two days after he felt a little uneasy. Within a day he lost the function of both kidneys and death came next day. He had maintained his physique very well, and was not in the habit of taking too much stress. An avid stock market and cricket enthusiast, Rajesh was the relative of former Indian player Brijesh Patel and former Karnataka player Y.B. Patel.

He had profound knowledge of the film industry as well and the way he used to encourage young talents made people believe he had the knack of gauging audiences minds' very well.

Rajesh was the first man to identify the talents of Yogaraj Bhat, Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, Shashank and many others.

Rajesh was supportive of Kannada films and he was interacting more with young talents than with producers.

The way he maintained the theatre and the good collections for Kannada films released in his theatre made film industry people approach him regularly. The last big hit film at Sagar was Sanju Weds Geetha.

The death of Rajesh has removed a brainy businessman and Kannada film enthusiast from our midst. For him, maintainence of his theatre was the first priority and he would personally supervise all the day-to-day work in his theatre.
