As is well known, "Death" doesn't spare anybody but an untimely death shocks all the people around the person who has passed away. Vakkadai Biksheshwaran Chandrasekhar or VB Chandrasekhar as he is more commonly known, committed suicide and passed away on August 15th. His sudden passing away has left many members of the cricket fraternity and also many others who have been associated with him, highly shocked! While initially the reason for him committing suicide was not known, it has later come to light that heavy losses in his cricket-related business had caused him to go into depression. Known for his dashing style of play when the term "pinch hitting" was not even popular, VB Chandrasekhar was an accomplished player for the Tamil Nadu Ranji team.

Having started his career in 1986, Chandrasekhar played for Tamil Nadu and his prolific scoring in the Ranji Trophy winning season of 1987-88, took him to the Indian Cricket team. His stint with the national team lasted for 7 matches. After captaining Tamil Nadu for a period, he then represented the Goa team before retiring as a player and taking over as a coach. VB Chandrasekhar's association with cricket continued when he was appointed the first Operations Director of the Chennai Super Kings IPL team. He also held the record for the fastest 100 in Indian First Class cricket till it was broken by Rishabh Pant in 2016.
