Renigunta postponed to December 4
Director Panneerselvam's Renigunta, made with newcomers (including producer S.S. Chakravarthy’s son Johnny as�hero), was supposed to hit screens this Friday (November 27). According to latest reports, the film has been postponed to the�first week of December for reasons unknown.
However, some reports suggest that Renigunta was delayed after the Chennai Regional Censor Board refused a censor certificate for showing violent and gruesome scenes enacted by children in graphic detail. The film has now been referred to the Revising Committee in Mumbai.
Produced under the banner of Film Fabricators, Renigunta�has an offbeat storyline about young criminals and reasons that instigate them to commit crime. Ganesh Raghavendra is the music director. Na. Muthukumar is the lyrist. Notably, the film has a song 'Thallakulam santhaiyil thagaraaru pannu' sung by young actor Simbu.
