On the night hours of Tuesday (October 5), veteran actor Arvind Trivedi passed away and he was 82 years old when he breathed his last. Arvind Trivedi is best known for acting as Raavan in Ramanand Sagar's iconic television series, Ramayan, which was aired in 1987. According to reports, Arvind Trivedi died around 9.30 PM on Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack. He died at his residence in Kandivali, Mumbai, surrounded by his family members. Arvind Trivedi was cremated at Dahanukar Wadi Cremation Ground in Kandivali on the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 6.

Several notable film and television personalities have extended their heartfelt condolences on social media and the fans are also mourning the demise of the much-loved actor. Actress Dipika Chikhlia who played the role of Sita in Ramayan shared her condolence message on her Instagram page. Dipika wrote, “my heart felt condolences to his family …a very fine human being #arvindtrivedi #ravan,”.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official Twitter page to share his statement on Arvind Trivedi's death. Sharing a throwback picture, Narendra Modi tweeted, "We have lost Shri Arvind Trivedi, who was not only an exceptional actor but also was passionate about public service. For generations of Indians, he will be remembered for his work in the Ramayan TV serial. Condolences to the families and admirers of both actors. Om Shanti".

Arvind Trivedi will be remembered for his classic portrayal of Raavan in Doordarshan's 1987 series, Ramayan. The serial featured Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhila, and Sunil Lhari in the lead roles. Apart from Ramayan, Arvind Trivedi also acted in more than 300 films. Arvind mostly acted in Hindi and Gujarati cinema.
