Director Ram's Thanga Meenkal, has bagged four National Awards. The film was selected as the Best Tamil Film, Sadhana and Sanjana were awarded as the Best Child artists and also Na. Muthukumar won the Best Lyricist award for the song 'Anandha Yaazhai', for the year 2013. The film was also earlier screened at the Goa Film festival and received a lot of appreciation from all sides. Thanga Meenkal brings out the story of a father and daughter who are inseparable's relation. The director has thanked the audiences for their support for the film and also thanked the National Awards committee, for recognising his film.
