Rajni pays emotional homage to Sridhar
The entire film industry assembled at Film Chamber on November 7th to pay homage to director Sridhar who passed away recently. Everyone spoke about the ace director’s talent and the knack of making films in a style unimaginable to many in those days. They all agreed that Sridhar totally changed the way films were made in Kollywood, especially the songs. Everyone had one comment to make on Sridhar – “He was a gem of a person and no one could match his empathy.”

Superstar Rajinikanth, K.R.G., Ramanarayanan, K. Balachander, Muktha Srinivasan, Bharathi Raja, S. Dhanu, Khaja Moideen, Shivasakthi Pandian, Radharavi, Anandha Suresh, Kovai Thambi, R.K. Selvamani, and many others were present at the event.
When superstar Rajinikanth spoke at the venue, he hailed the ace director for his directorial skills and expressed how much he admired his work. He also recalled how he agreed to act in Ilamai Oonjal Aadugiradhu despite being extremely busy when Sridhar approached him. The thespian said that Sridhar spoke so sweetly and convincingly that no one could refuse his requests. Rajni also said that Sridhar was very compassionate, humble, and extremely cooperative on the sets. The superstar was very emotional while he recollected all this. He also said that he wanted to pay back this wonderful artist and so tried to include him in the producers' list of Arunachalam, but the veteran refused the offer, understanding Rajni’s motive of helping him financially and said “give me work and not indirect financial assistance.”
