Rajinikanth visits Tirupati

South Indian superstar Rajinikanth and his family visited the hill shrine Tirupati on Wednesday to offer his prayers to Lord Venkateshwara.

The 60 year old was accompanied by his wife Latha, his daughters Soundarya and Aishwarya and sons-in-law Ashwin and Dhanush. The actor and his family were at the Tirumala temple for over 30 minutes.

As homage to the Lord for blessing the actor to completely recover from his prolonged illness, Rajni's wife Latha tonsured her head. Later thulabaram was performed for Rajinikanth. The arrangements were made by Rajni's close friend and Telugu actor Mohan Babu.

While speaking to the media, the actor said: "I am thankful to all my fans who prayed for me while I was undergoing treatment. By the grace of God, I am fine now and took part in the shoot of Ra.One. Doctors advised me to rest for another three months before I resume shooting for Rana. This is a thanksgiving visit to the Lord. My Deepavali wishes to all."
